A brass coloured metal oil lamp that may have been for the railways. Purchased from an antique shop in the early eighties in Switzerland and kept in a collection since then. The lamp is free standing with the oil reservoir at the base. The front and two side panels have removable clear glass and the front has side holders for another plate of glass. The back has a slot and this holds a smaller piece of red coloured glass though this piece is too small for the front. The front has a hinged door with a lift up locking pin. The top has a carry handle and on the rear there is a long hinged bracket. The base unscrews and the seal is still in place.Size Height 28 cms Width 9.8 cms Depth 8.3 cmsAn interesting item for a display shelf or as a prop for window dressing or theatre.
